The second round matchup between The Denominators and Allied Powers was a battle to the very end.
Mr. Schuckman, eager to pull an early lead, modified some of his ghost hunting equipment into new and improved Nerf weapons. Unfortunately, Mrs. Bierbaum fell victim to this new technology and was the first loss of The Denominators.
In order to save her squad, Ms. Trotter went after Mr. Z, who she assumed would be an easy target. Sure enough, there she saw Mr. Z casually on his porch reading the newspaper. As he seemed absorbed with the crossword, Ms. Trotter went in for the kill. However, Mr. Z learned from his past and had a Nerf gun cocked and ready. Without a glance, Mr. Z was able to shoot Ms. Trotter and give an even larger lead to the Allied Powers.
On the other end of the Axis, Mrs. Keating was scheming a plan to rescue The Denominators. Laying low this round was Mr. Mignery, and Mrs. Keating knew that he had to be eliminated.
After school, Mr. Mignery was lounging in his room blaring some jazz music. Mrs. Keating followed the sound of the saxophone stealthily down the hall. Suddenly, she appeared at the door of 011 and quickly shot Mr. Mignery from across the room.
The Denominators were now on the board.
Mrs. Keating did not stop there. She needed to finish off Mr. Z once and for all. Avoiding the porch, she went where she knew she could find him. One morning over a cup of black coffee at Hyde’s, the unsuspecting Mr. Z was shot by Mrs. Keating.
Two down, two to go. Next on the list was Schuckman.
Finally taking a moment to relax after APUSH was done for the year, he was spending some time playing with his kids outside. As Schuckman wandered away from the kids to pick up a stray football, Mrs. Keating appeared out of nowhere and eliminated him.
This left just Keating and Seitz. Both knew that they would have to make dramatic moves to save their teams.
Mrs. Keating decided to take a day to plan her offensive after her kill streak. On the other hand, Mr. Seitz had different plans. After covering the D-Day invasion with his History of World War II class, he knew what must be done. After a heavy rain, the Keating backyard became swamp-like --perfect for an amphibious attack.
Decked out in camo and strapped with Nerf guns, Mr. Seitz was ready for a win.
And win he did.
Too caught up over the game plan, Mrs. Keating let her guard down which allowed Mr. Seitz an easy shot to victory.
The Allied Powers are now progressing to Round 3.
