Biomanufacturing is a the making of products using biological systems, such as cells. The cells are usually altered via biotechnology to produce products that we can use.
What are some products made from biomanufacturing? One of the first products made were insulin, tPA (tissue plasminogen activator) and humatrope (human growth hormone). Today, vaccines, cancer drugs, even spider silk is made through the process known as biomanufacturing.
