AZLA Annual Conference

2018 Program Book

Special Event Library Services

Description:

Academic campuses have all sorts of special event days - mental health, Denim Day, Earth Day, etc. where there are often table set up to highlight clubs and services available. To remind people that the Library has more material than just the articles needed for class assignments, this project was about bringing the library books to the tabling event. Physical books are displayed for checkout on the spot and a library guide carousel of ebooks and videos was also shown. With the capability to email the link to the person on demand.

Presenters:

Jenny Mueller-Alexander, Librarian, As one of the Liaison Librarians at the Polytechnic campus of ASU, I often set up a table for special topic events such as Denim Day, Natives Connecting Day and Domestic Violence Awareness. This is a pilot project to bring books that can be checked out to the event as well as having a Library Guide with more information on the books available.
