Operation Welcome Mat
We used Google Earth and Map My Walk to create this map of the Nature Trail.
How do you draw creatures in? By laying out the welcome mat, of course!
Fourth-grade and fifth-grade students at Briggs Elementary School in Ashburnham, MA are creating a variety of “habitat enhancements” to make the school’s science garden, vernal pool, and nature trail a more welcoming place for people and pollinators. In addition to plants, we will add things like signs, bird baths and benches. Our goal is to increase the number of human and animal visitors to our outdoor learning spaces.
