Our Equipment:
Team e-Mber is our eSports program at AVHS. They practice and play daily with the exception of Wednesdays. They play at the Inferno which is located in F-3. eSports is an opportunity for students who share the same interest in video games to come together and play competitively. Through the North American Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF), members of the team are able to compete in a variety of games such as "Rocket League, League of Legends, Valorant, Super Smash Brothers, and Overwatch".
Our Equipment:
We are currently using Nintendo Switches, Xboxes, and Play Stations for console gaming. For our PC gaming, we are using Dell Precision 3630: Intel 3.6GHz 8 Core i9-9900k processor, 16GB of Memory, and a NVIDA GeForce RTX 2080 Super graphics card.
Our Facility:
In January of 2023, we completed some renovations and upgrades to our eSports Arena.

Roles in the eSports Club
E-Sports is not only for players, there are a multitude of different roles involving e-Sports that don't require you to be a gamer.
Player/Gamer
Compete competitively in games such as "Rocket League, League of Legends, Valorant, Minecraft, Super Smash Brothers, and Overwatch".
Graphic Designer
Create a variety of promotional posts and designs as needed throughout the season.
Shoutcaster
A Shoutcaster is the person who commentates over the gameplay to inform the viewer and keep them engaged. To learn more about Shoutcasting visit this link.
Broadcaster/ Streaming/ Video Editing
Set up a landing page and work OBS and YouTube for the game streams. Create and post highlights of the games and special events.
Career Pathways
There are a number of different opportunities for students which are needed to continue the field of E-Sports. This is referred to by NASEF as The E-Sports Ecosystem.
Strategists
Strategists include roles such as Coaches, Theory Crafters, and Analysts. The job of a strategist is to compile data to improve in-game performance.
Content Creators
The roles involved in Content Creation are Software Developers, Shoutcasters, Streamers, Journalists, and Fandom Art and Media. The job of a content creator is to tell a story of the Team, Organization, or company they represent.
Entrepreneurs
The job of an entrepreneur is to create a website, sponsor deck, or graphics for the team. Roles for Entrepreneurs include; Web Developers, Marketing, Corporate Sponsorships, Business Development, and Fandom Art and Media.
Organizers
An Organizer, as the name suggests, is to coordinate small and large events. Roles in this area include; General Manager, Event Organizer, and IT Support.

March 11th, 2020
First official meeting before the COVID-19 Lockdown
September 9th, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 Lockdown, the E-Sports program was halted. However, for the new school year, E-Sports was able to continue online with their first meeting. The meeting announced the start of NASEF Fall Season.
October 9th, 2020
After obtaining the games and registering through NASEF. Team e-Mber played their first competitive game against the Hawaii based Iolani High School. Playing on the maps; Busan and Hanamura.
October 14th 2020
Team e-Mber played their second game against Edison High School based in Huntington Beach. Playing on the maps Havana and Numbani.
October 26th, 2020
After a couple days of troubleshooting various problems Team e-Mber was able to stream their game for the first time.
