¡Hola! This is my fifth year at GATE and I am so excited to be your Spanish/ELA teacher! Many of you already know me, but feel free to find out more below!
I graduated from Oakland University in April 2021 with a major in Spanish and a minor in English with secondary education.
In 2018, I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland. It was one of the best experiences of my life!
I graduated from Boston College in May 2025 with a Master in Education- focused on curriculum & instruction.
I absolutely love coffee! I love cold brew, iced coffee, and lattes. You can usually find me with a coffee in my hand every morning!
I LOVE to travel! I have been to 18 countries (and counting)! Every year, I try to go to a new country! Some of my favorite places to visit are Spain, Ireland, and Italy!
Even though I already am fluent in 2 languages, I love to continue to learn other languages! I especially like to learn different Romance Languages since they are similar to Spanish. I am currently taking an Italian class!
I went to Peru last June with a group of students from GATE. We had an amazing time! This picture is from Macchu Picchu!
I have 1 sister, named Lillian. She lives in New York City. We are in Stockholm, Sweden in this picture.
I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. My dog's name is Sam, and my puppy's name is Oscar. My cats are Bennie, Natasha, and Lola. This is a picture of Bennie and Lola. They are besties!
I absolutely LOVE to travel! I visited 7 different countries this summer! This is me in Wrocław, Poland!
I also spend a lot of time in Mackinac during the summer! My grandparents live in Mackinaw City during the summer and I love to visit them! This is me and my "French sister" Josephine! She was an exchange student with my family from 2018-2019!
This is me and my mom in Florence, Italy last summer! Florence is one of my favorite cities!
I also visited Edinburgh, Scotland. It was absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to go back!
This is me with one of my best friends, Liz. We traveled to France, Italy, and Monaco last summer!
A group picture from Italy and Spain! This is in Puerta del Sol in Madrid.
My family hosted an exchange student from Norway last year. Her name is Ida. We visited Florida, Boston, New York, and various places in Michigan with her.
This is my puppy, Oscar! He turns 1 in September!
This is my exchange student, Ida, and my cousin, Megan, at my graduation with my master's degree from Boston College this past May.
I am excited to be working with EF tours on a trip to Italy & Spain in July 2025 and a Spring Break trip to London, Paris, Amsterdam & Brussels in April 2026. Please note that this trip is approved and supported by the Avondale School District & the Board of Education!
Please keep up to date on classroom information by checking below!
Please also understand that while my top priority is teaching & my students during the school day, I do prioritize my own time after school hours. I ask that you please be understanding that I am not able to respond to emails sent out of the school day immediately.
Grades are updated weekly. Just because a student turned in an assignment does not mean that the grade is automatically updated. Some bigger assignments may take longer for me to grade. Please remember, I am one person! I strive to give my students many opportunities to demonstrate understanding, but I cannot grade them all immediately.
I typically respond to emails in 24-48 business hours. That includes the times of 7:45-3:20.
We use a variety of online tools in Spanish class. These tools include (links below):
Students should log in with their Avondale Schools Google account when using these tools to receive full access! I pay for a premium membership so that students are able to have more access to these resources!
Please note that students will occasionally be assigned work using these sites. These sites also may be used for independent practice on their own time.
How can my student practice at home?
By using the above sites, making flashcards, repetition (saying vocab words aloud), completing all activities and assignments! It is imperative that students practice outside of school as well!
