Credits granted upon completion: A completed assignment is due each week and is equivalent to 5 instructional days of work. Five (5) credits will be earned upon successful completion of all assignments and a grade of 60% or better on each test.
Course Goals:
The student will understand the basic principles of the Constitution.
The student will learn how the federal, state and local courts function.
The student will understand how the legislative and executive branches function.
The student will learn how state and local governments are constituted and function.
The student will study contemporary governments.
The student will learn contemporary issues facing the world.
Method of evaluation:
1. Teacher observation and review of student work.
2. Quizzes and tests (mastery level 60% or better).
