Antelope Valley High School has three AVC Bridge Counselors whose job is to help YOU get to Antelope Valley College! They will walk you through the application process, how to apply for financial aid, and everything else that comes with registering at AVC. Please be sure to utilize them for support!

Antelope Valley College - Summer Academy

Are you a student who has applied to AVC? Do you need a review of Math, English, or Reading skills? Do you feel unprepared for AVC courses? If so, register for the Summer Academy at AVC. Click here for the flyer.

What is it? A free 4-day intensive review of Math, English, or Reading skills. 

When is it? August 5th-8th from 9AM-12PM.

Dual enrollment (special admit)

If you are currently in high school and would like to enroll in a college course at AVC, please download and print the following dual enrollment form and follow the steps listed.

Steps for Enrollment at AVC

1.    Apply Online via CCC Apply.  (Please read all of the information listed below starting your application.)

a.    When creating an account, please use your personal email address.

2.    Once your application has been processed, you will receive an email with login instructions providing you with your username, password, and student ID number.

3.   Your initial account information is included in an email from AVC. It will have your 900 Student ID# and your AVC username. Your password is your six-digit birthdate. For example, if you were born on July 28th, 2000, you would enter "072800" as your initial password. You will then need to reset your password with one of your choice.

4.    Once you are logged in, go to the “Student Success” Tab. You will need to complete the “Online Orientation”.

5.    Once you are done with the “Online Orientation”, under “Sign Out”, click “Email” to activate your AVC email. Your AVC email is your username followed by “@avc.edu”.

6.    Once you are done with the “Online Orientation”, go to the AVC website, select the “Admissions” tab, and click “Assessment Center”. You need to self-report your Math and English under “Directed Self-Placement (DSP)”.

a.    Complete the “Directed Self-Placement (DSP)” for Math. (This requires your AVC student ID number and AVC Gmail account).

b.    Complete the “Directed Self-Placement (DSP)” for English. (This requires your AVC student ID number and AVC Gmail account).

7.    AVC Counseling will send you a copy of an Educational Plan in your AVC student email.

8.    Register for Classes using your myAVC account

9.    Pay for Classes and Student Health Services Fees using your myAVC account

10.  Buy Books and Supplies

11.  Buy a Parking Permit and an ASO sticker

12.  Attend Classes

Who needs to apply

New Students / Transfer Students - if you have never taken a course at AVC.  Please note, if you apply to AVC for a term and do not enroll for courses for that term, you MUST apply again as a new student for the next term.

Returning Students – if you have registered and attended a course at AVC, but have been absent two or more terms (Fall and Spring).

When to apply

AVC has deadlines for students to apply and receive a Priority Enrollment Appointment.  Students who apply after the deadline must wait until Open Enrollment to register.  Registration Dates are found on the Admissions and Records: Registration Dates webpage.

Special Admissions Instructions

Special Admit - middle / high school Students – students who will be enrolled in a middle / high school AND college during the same term may complete the online application but will need to obtain additional admissions forms found on the Admissions and Records webpage or see your high school counselor.  A  hold will be placed on your record until all admission forms have been reviewed and approved by AVC.

Students under the age of 14 will also need to meet with the Dean of Enrollment Services.

International Students – citizens of another country visiting or planning to visit the United States to study on an F-1 Student Visa -- DO NOT apply using this online application.  Contact the Antelope Valley College for special application instructions and forms.  Please call (661) 722-6342 with questions.
