TexFlex flexible spending accounts (FSAs) allow you to set aside money from your paycheck, pre-tax, to pay for eligible health and dependent day care expenses. This reduces your taxable income.
The Maximum amount you can contribute is $3,400 per year and $7,500 for the dependent care FSA.
Eligible expenses are listed on TexFlex Website
You can carry over up to $680 in unused health care funds to the next plan year as long as you are an active employee on August 31 (end of fiscal year).
You have 60 days after first day of employment to adjust the dollar amounts you want to deposit to the account. After that, you have to wait until open enrollment to make any changes.
