Each student will be able to accurately use the path's tool and the color picker tool in Inkscape to create a background made of polygon shapes.
This project is meant to help students practice and become familiar with the basic tools in inkscape before they start tackling big projects, like the poly art project, Landscape Wallpapers, or Logo Design.
Students can use the resulting artwork as backgrounds on their phones, computers, or even websites if they so choose.
Create an 800x600 square in Inkscape.
Use the Mesh Gradient tool to give it unique coloration.
Using the bezier tool (B), create a polygon shape, then use the color picker tool (F6) to pick up the color underneath your selected polygon.
Repeat step 3 by placing every following polygon right next to each other.
Once all polygons have been placed and filled with the color picker, select all (CTRL+A) and hold down SHIFT and click on the little red X in the bottom left hand corner to get rid of the polygon lines.
Double click on individual polygons and click and drag any sides that have gaps to get rid of the gaps.
