April 2021: Volume XI, Issue 3
Welcome readers to the April edition of the Canine Comical during the 2020-2021 school year.
Good job, Bulldogs, on making it to the new semester! We're already so close to our fourth quarter, so keep on working hard. Additionally, we have finally moved into the hybrid system for school, so to our hybrid students, keep up the good work as well.
Seeing how hard students are working, and considering the stress everyone might be under, journalists here at TCC have decided to make this edition completely satire!
For those who don't know, according to Oxford Languages, satire is "the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."
To put it simply, most everything in this edition is purely for laughs. Shows like Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, and The Onion are all examples of satire in today's media.
We are here to make humor with a purpose. So, to accommodate with the satire, people featured in these articles written could be fake people, with made-up names and fake quotes. As for any other people featured, such as school staff, they are also aware and in on the joke.
As for the names of people that are celebrities, we have purposefully changed their names, like how we have made fake people with made-up names. So we are fully aware if their names are a little off, or if they are altered in any way.
While reading please remember, these articles were written with the intent of giving readers a laugh. These articles were made to be funny, in hopes of helping readers have a good time.
Also, for the reader's information, some articles could possibly be based on true facts, but with an added sense of humor for the satire.
To our MBMS readers, good job continuing with learning during these confusing and difficult times. We’re so close to the final quarter of the year. Keep trudging along, and wear your masks.
Sincerely,
