Throughout your first years at ASV, as part of our Induction and Mentoring program you will engage in quality professional conversations, coaching and mentoring opportunities, classroom observations and feedback, as well as professional learning and become part of a professional learning learning community.
The VIT Guide leads you through the process - Every requirement and supportive detail with a template to guide you through to full registration.
You can work towards achieving full teacher registration with VIT in your first or second year. Please note, unlike other systems and schools in Victoria who only provide a 12 month period of mentoring for provisional to full registration, ASV provides a two-year rich induction opportunity.
A part of this is to enjoy the 10% reduction of face-to-face teaching time with learners in your first year. This assists with your professional practice and wellbeing.
My Induction App from AITSL is a great free resource to support the induction process.
The app hosts a range of:

As part of the induction process, trained ASV Induction and Mentoring Officers will conduct formative observations to assess the quality of teaching practices and student learning experiences. This will be used to facilitate coaching conversations designed to develop and improve classroom culture and quality of teaching and learning.
Evidence informed classroom observations, combined with quality coaching and reflective feedback conversation cycles support teachers to grow and strengthen their pedagogy.
EBO's will be conducted each semester as part of your Induction and will be used to support professional coaching conversations with your Induction and Mentoring Officer.
