Fully registered teachers across all sectors (government, Catholic, and independent schools/early childhood) are invited to complete this free, two-day professional learning program. Developed and delivered in partnership with DE, the EMP will equip you with the necessary skills to mentor new teachers and guide them successfully through the provisional to full registration process.
Key Requirements:
To achieve VIT trained mentor status, you must attend the two full days of the program in the same year.
Mentors who completed the EMP more than three years ago can attend a one-day refresher seminar.
Note: Attendance at both days of the program within the same year is required to be considered a VIT trained mentor.
These are suggested joint Mentor and Mentee activities that will encourage positive professional relationships that will guide growing the supports for, goals, culture and operations in your local school. that relates to the Provisional Teacher's teaching experience. This relationship is key to being successful and engaging with the professional challenge of learning built on respect and all within non-judgement opportunities. Both learn in this relationship, reflect to improve classroom practice and to best support each learner.
