When researching existing STEM classrooms and how the students use them, we discovered that students tend to have tons of things in their workspace area, leading to unwanted clutter and no additional places for storage.
The way we addressed this issue is by making a drawer organizer that attaches via the pop-up dogs feature on the table. The student would slide the attachment onto the table, align it to the pop-up dogs, and with a finger press have the dogs pop upward to hold the drawer organizer. This idea was a collaboration with the accessories team.
With this, however, comes the additional problem of where to put the drawer organizers once the students are done using it. We resolved that by having a storage unit to place them back neatly and keep the classroom clean. We wanted to give the option of not just organizing the drawer organizers but also having a place to store bigger tools such as power tools or cutting mats.
The goal of this product is to provide students with different ways to organize their workspace and their classroom to have a safe yet creative way to use their space when focusing on their task at hand.
