How we decided to plan and make the furniture and how we will take STEM into consideration.

Introduction

In this analysis and planning session, we will delve into the Steelcase Design Documentation to understand the project's objectives, research findings, ideation process, prototyping strategies, and usability testing. Our goal is to extract valuable insights and formulate a comprehensive plan for moving forward with the project. We will focus on identifying key challenges, refining design concepts, and ensuring that the final product aligns with the project goals and user needs.

Prototyping Plan

Key Information that we had come up with for the furniture and why.

Objective Definition: Clearly define the objectives of the prototype phase, including what specific aspects of the design will be tested and evaluated.
Prototype Scope: Determine the scope of the prototype, including which features and functionalities will be included and prioritized for testing.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including time, budget, and personnel, for developing and testing the prototype.
Prototype Methodology: Decide on the methodology for prototyping, whether it's through low-fidelity sketches, mid-fidelity designs, or high-fidelity prototypes.
Testing Criteria: Define the criteria for evaluating the prototype's effectiveness, usability, and alignment with user needs and project goals.
Feedback Mechanism: Establish a mechanism for collecting feedback from stakeholders and users during and after the testing phase.
Iterative Process: Plan for an iterative prototyping process, where feedback from testing informs further refinements and improvements to the design.

Planning

Research: Our Research group gathers insights into educational environments, ergonomic principles, sustainable practices, and technological innovations. Through literature reviews, interviews, and data analysis, we inform our design process.
Ideation and Designs: Translating research into tangible concepts, our Ideation and Designs group creates sketches and prototypes to address key challenges. We collaborate closely with clients to ensure alignment with project goals and user needs.
Prototyping: Our Prototyping team brings design concepts to life using CAD concepts, scale models, and fabrication plans. We focus on selecting materials for durability, functionality, and sustainability to ensure our prototypes meet the highest standards.
Usability Testing: The Usability Testing group evaluates prototypes to assess effectiveness and user experience. Through rigorous testing and feedback, we refine our designs to meet the needs of our users
