Description:
The “Pilot” Podium is a teaching and lecture podium designed to give more space, storage, and freedom to the users. The podium has dual storage devices; a built-in opening in the head and a removable storage drawer under a storage platform. The removable storage compartment can be rolled away or carried by the handles.
To fit educators with more materials and who need a larger workspace the 19 inches side arms fold upward on both sides, giving a total of nearly 500 square inches of additional work space. The shape of the pilot brings the arms toward the user when branched out, creating a workspace that partially wraps around the user. keeping their supplies close. The pilot extends its arms out to assist educators in a variety of environments.

We wanted to maximize efficiency in STEM classrooms and environments by giving educators a reliable and more functional podium to work from. The podium can find its home in lecture halls and everyday classrooms, using a 40x27 inch workspace with a maximum height of 52 inches for a standing workspace and a lowered height down to 32 inches for sitting classes. The Pilot was designed with inclusivity in mind, giving the user a 30-inch wheelchair clearance and an adjustment lever for height.
