Welcome to Module 3: Helping/Communication Skills and Strategies for Supporting Student Skill Development!
This module introduces key helping and communications skills that career services professionals can use when working with individuals and groups in the context of diverse populations. The module also includes best practices for supporting students' skill development. This module will be presented in person and you will find copies of the materials here to review and use.
This module addresses the following outcomes:
Practice effective communication strategies and helping skills to coach and lead diverse populations (with sensitivity to gender, multiculturalism, ability, and other related areas) in an environment that supports mutual respect. (C.O. 1, 3 & 4)
Identify strategies and resources to facilitate the development of student employability skills. (C.O. 1, 4)
Build a list of appropriate web-based resources for use with specific populations. (C.O. 4, 6)
