REFLECTION
In this module, I was enlightened with the different specializations or branches of civil engineering. Structural engineering deals with the structural analysis and structural design of infrastructures. Construction engineering and management is concerned with the planning and materializing the paper framework of the proposed infrastructure design. Geotechnical engineering focuses on the soil, foundation, and bearing capabilities of the supposedly construction site. Water resources engineering concentrates on the management of water supplies to provide adequate water for the community. Transportation engineering pertains to developing and building transportation infrastructures. Environment and energy engineering associates to utilizing energy effectively while protecting the environment. Amongst these specializations, I was more interested in structural engineering that is why we had interviewed a licensed structural engineer to ask more about the profession. Furthermore, this module undoubtedly presented the code of ethics of civil engineers, RA 544 and Presidential Decree 1594. Through these documents, I was able to comprehend the policies, guidelines, principles, do's and don'ts and other necessary information about the profession of civil engineering.
