Community Service hours remain at 60 for the duration of high school, it is a graduation requirement. However, starting with the Class of 2025, no more than 30 total hours can be earned on campus. The remaining 30 must be completed OFF Campus under the supervision of an AST employee or a non- direct family member (parents, grandparents, siblings). Documentation must be provided. A project that is initiated on campus (ie planned or staged) can qualify as off campus if the majority of the work happens with the community outside AST. Students may not be paid or receive credit in exchange for community service. Starting with the Class of 2025, every student must complete a credit of Project Based Service Learning to learn how to design and implement impactful service projects. Community resources and contacts will be provided.
Students must document and submit their reflection form in the semester they complete their hours.
