Private Adeslas
ASM provides private health, dental, and vision insurance through Adeslas. Your coverage begins on September 1, 2025. You will receive your card from the Business Office during Orientation. This plan is complementary to the public healthcare that you automatically receive through the Spanish government. You can use either or both depending on the circumstance. You can find more information on this in the ASM Human Resource Portal or on the Adeslas website.
Public Spanish Social Security
Additionally, all residents have national health, and Seguridad Social coverage through the Spanish state. Each neighborhood has a local health center where you will register to receive care.
The European Health card is a free card that gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, under the same conditions and at the same cost (free in some countries) as people insured in those countries.
Cards are issued by your national health insurance provider.
IMPORTANT – the European Health Insurance Card
is not an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any private healthcare or costs such as a return flight to your home country or lost/stolen property
does not cover your costs if you are traveling for the express purpose of obtaining medical treatment
does not guarantee free services. As each country’s healthcare system is different, services that cost nothing at home might not be free in another country
We recommend you request it when you arrive and have settled.
