My name is Megan McCormick and I am very excited to kick off this new school year. This is my tenth year at ASFG and it is my seventeenth year of teaching. This will be a great year. Together we will create a classroom community so we can explore, learn and grow. As a fourth grade community, we will be the leaders of the elementary school! This year, I will be working closely with the fourth grade team, especially Ms. Maria Laura, our Spanish teacher.
I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and I've always enjoyed being active and being outside. I went to college at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. I graduated with a B.S. in Education Education, a B.A. in Spanish Studies and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education. I also studied at Hamline University in St. Paul for certificates in Bilingual/Bicultural Education and ESL (English as a Second Language). Prior to ASFG, I taught for eight years in a bilingual school in Minneapolis, MN.
Outside of school, I enjoy being active. I like taking walks, exploring new places and traveling. I also love reading. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my new baby Thiago.
It's going to be a fun and meaningful year in fourth grade. See you soon!
