Fenugreek is a plant that has traditionally been used in Indian cooking, but there is some research that indicates that it can prevent the onset of diabetes type II. Although the entire plant has been proven to have these effects, analyzing the individual effects of its components are necessary to develop clinical therapies based on the plant, which can be more effective than providing the entire extract to a patient. This project focuses on extracting the plant's components and testing it on a model organism in order to assess its hypoglycemic effect as well as its mechanism of action.
