Get to know Ms. Monica...
Born and raised in Anchorage, I graduated from Dimond High and continued on to University of Nevada, Reno for college. I grew up with a love of downhill ski racing that continued throughout college. This will be my 20th year teaching with Anchorage School District. I married Jonathan Severson in 2003. Our daughter, Chloe was born on St. Patrick’s Day 2006. On September 9th, 2009 our son Owen joined the family. Our summers are filled with baseball and softball games, while also getting out of town as often as we can for camping and fishing adventures. Our winters are spent on the mountains in Girdwood downhill skiing and playing hockey on our neighborhood lake. I love living in Alaska and I feel fortunate to be able to raise my kids in such a magical place. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and being able to work at Aquarian is truly a dream come true!
