The Junior Senior Committee was established in 2015 and the main purpose for the committee is to offset the cost to students of the annual prom and to sponsor completely the 100 Day Celebration and the December surprise memorable item. In addition to this the committee aims to provide positive support to senior students through the monthly surprises.
For the committee to achieve the goals mentioned above, the committee holds a few fund-raising events such as the Pumpkin Patch, Valentines Market, Root Beer Float and Chili Fest, the committee also participates in the PTA Friendship Festival and through the generosity of the PTA, we are able to fulfill our goals.
Prom is our favorite event because it’s an event the students look forward to and it’s so lovely to see the Juniors and Seniors attending this glamourous event with the anticipation of Prom King and Queen and Prom Prince and Princess. This event is always a great success.
The success of the committee is completely dependent on its volunteers, whether it be organizing and running fundraisers or planning and funding the monthly senior surprises. The spirit of teamwork is the main ingredient to this committee’s success.
Watching our kids grow is so special and parents realize how fast the time passed as our kids start their junior year and it becomes a bittersweet moment when our babies are seniors and are off to college in a blink of an eye. I encourage the parents to join the committee and participate in every event possible because these are the years they get to enjoy and celebrate their children before they embark on their new adventure. On the other hand, the students will love it and appreciate it so much.
The committee doesn’t hold meetings, however, we have a broadcast only WhatsApp chat group and all 11th and 12th grade parents are welcome to join by clicking on this link.
