What is your submission about?
My submission is about the last humans in a zombie-filled world. It demonstrates desperation through abstract and complementary colors, as well as through light and shadow. My submission strives to communicate the serene moments of silence for the last humans in the world through the use of different art and technological techniques and tools.
Is your submission related to the APOCALYPSE theme? If so, HOW?
My submission is centered around apocalypse because it uses different shades of the color red, which is a themed color in any zombie apocalypse that represents blood. There are also two humans in the painting, which makes you wonder: where did everyone go? All of this connects to the theme of the apocalypse because it is about the end of the world and of humanity.
What tools did you utilize to create your submission?
The tool I used was Krita which is an app similar to Photoshop and Clipart Studio that focuses on digital art using different tools and techniques to create artwork.
What do you want to showcase about your submission?
Something I want to showcase about my digital artwork is the use of light and shadows. They symbolize very deeply the emotions and feelings that an apocalypse can bring and how destructive yet beautiful it is. I also would like to have people look for more symbols and hear about what they can interpret out of the whole artwork because everyone has their own imagination and interpretation of the piece. I find it very interesting how interpretations can vary and would like to hear different comments about it.
