What is your submission about?

I figured that the term “apocalypse” is a subjective term that has many interpretations from the media and from every person. To me, the apocalypse involves the future, which includes technology and the cost of the improvements, which jeopardize nature with pollution, for example). It’s mainly gray to represent the dust, the smoke, and the hand that reaches to the sky is both human and robot. It symbolizes how we drown in expectations, in the overwhelming future, and how we’re surrounded by machines and energy.

Is your submission related to the APOCALYPSE theme? If so, HOW?

The apocalypse is defined as “the complete destruction of the world, preceding the establishment of a new world and heaven.”Reiterating what I said before, to meet technology and the cost of improvements, which involves nature is closely related to pollution, which is possibly going to be the downfall of humanity. The new world that will emerge from the ashes of a polluted world will probably be robots and machines, which are depicted inside of my drawing.

What tools did you utilize to create your submission?

I used graphite pencils (2B and 4B)

What do you want to showcase about your submission?

I want to showcase the effects of pollution and how the world will look like ominously.
