What is your submission about?

My submission is about the appearance of a meteor apocalypse in a city.

What do you want to showcase about your submission?

In this piece my goal was to capture the initial moments of a meteor apocalypse. That is why all the components of any regular functional city are still present, such as cars, lights, trees, buildings, and an organized city structure. To contrast the traces of normality that lingered in the city scape, I hinted towards the upcoming destruction through the presence of a big cloud of smoke. To make it look as such, I switched the opacity and structure of the blocks in the program’s render mode. Around the blocks that built the smoke, I added meteor-like shapes to insinuate the source of the smoke. All of my work was done on a program called MagicaVoxel, which I chose after having seen other people’s work. I figured out most things by myself, but I also had help from Youtube and some friends.
