In this IDL, pupils considered the factors which make a rollercoaster exciting, before deciding upon a theme, a unique selling point and the key features of their track. The pupils worked in groups to build a model of their rollercoaster and designed their theming. Pupils then pitched their initial designs to mentors from Drayton Manor and STEM Ambassadors who then gave each group individual feedback about their designs. Pupils then attended a virtual marketing workshop from Aberdeen University, before going on to design their logos and mechanise. Some groups chose to present their final track designs by producing a simulation.
