How can we, as Kemnay Academy pupils, develop and produce a sustainable takeaway dish using local produce to be shared with the local community?
In this IDL pupils have been exploring local foods along with topics such as sustainability, packaging and carbon footprint. Throughout their projects, pupils have cooked recipes using local produce linked to the arable and fruit crops which grow in the North East area. In groups, pupils devised and developed a savoury and sweet snack based on local, seasonal and sustainable produce. This was then cooked and showcased to a group of judges. Their presentations included tasting of the snacks and information about where the food came from, sustainability, marketing and packaging.
