How can we as landscape artists share our hopes and anxieties about our future with our community?
How can we as landscape artists share our hopes and anxieties about our future with our community?
In our IDL project, pupils have explored a range of techniques such as collage and sculpture to help them express how they feel about the future of their local area. Pupils have discussed themes such as climate change, future of transport and the future of school, choosing the theme they are most interested in for their final product. Pupils have regularly used peer feedback to develop their evaluation and communication skills. To help develop their ideas further, we invited a local landscape artist to speak to the class about his inspiration behind his art works and to demonstrate print making. After working through the research and development of their ideas, pupils worked on their final product. A mini exhibition was used to showcase the finished artworks.
