Field trips at Arundel Christian School are designed to enrich classroom learning, build community, and give students hands-on experiences that support their development and curiosity. For our preschool students, field trips are thoughtfully planned with safety, developmental readiness, and age-appropriate experiences in mind.
PreK2
PreK2 students do not participate in off-campus field trips. At this age, most children are still developing potty training routines and adjusting to structured group activities. In addition, many field trip venues do not have adequate restroom facilities for this age group.
On field trip days, PreK2 classes will remain at school and continue with a full day of fun, themed, and developmentally appropriate activities on campus.
PreK3
PreK3 students participate in select, age-appropriate field trips. However, due to their young age and developmental needs, each PreK3 student must be accompanied by a parent or approved chaperone.
Transportation: PreK3 students must ride with their parent/guardian in their own vehicle, using the appropriate car seat. Bus transportation is not provided.
Chaperone Required: A responsible adult must attend and supervise their child for the duration of the trip.
PreK4
PreK4 students attend several off-campus field trips during the year that support their academic, social, and spiritual growth.
Chaperones are encouraged but not required.
Bus transportation is provided for students and approved chaperones.
If you prefer to transport your child separately, please notify the teacher or director in advance.
Attendance on Field Trip Days
If your PreK3 or PreK4 child is not attending the field trip, they must remain at home that day. All teachers and support staff attend the trips, and no alternative care or classroom supervision is available.
PreK2 students will remain on campus with their teachers as normal.
Costs & Permission
Parents will be notified of trip details in advance, including the cost, destination, and schedule.
Permission slips and payment (if applicable) must be submitted by the posted deadline for your child to attend.
Some trips may include optional purchases (e.g., lunch, souvenirs) based on venue guidelines.
