As with the language arts, dance is receptive communication that allows us to understand by ‘reading’ through seeing and other senses. Dance is expressive communication through which we show thoughts and feelings. Unlike the language arts, the art of dance uses the body instead of words to communicate and create meaning. When combining language arts and dance, the learning result can be complete with long-lasting effects.
‘The kinesthetic mode is the one through which our earliest learning happens and it remains a force throughout life’ (Gardner, 1993).
