Los School has about 50 pupils in preschool class and grades 1-9.
In the school there is a library which serves as an important resource for all teaching.
In the preschool class, we provide students with a safe transition from preschool to school and a positive school start that prepares them for lifelong learning. The education focus on the students' needs and interests. Play and movement are important parts of the schoolday, and so are aesthetic learning processes and outdoor pedagogy. Sports and music are on the schedule every week and we are constantly working to develop students' linguistic awareness and basic mathematical ability.

Alftaskolan is the school in the middle of the community with about 200 students. The central location brings good connections but also proximity to forest and lake. We offer recreation centers and a leisure club, in another part of the school there are grades 7-9. Directly adjacent to the school are a library, gym and swimming pool. In winter there is proximity to ski tracks and ice rink.
At the Alftaskolan preschool, leisure center and school have a close cooperation. We have a high teacher density and work diligently to ensure that students get good knowledge, feel participation and joy in going to school. With us, learning, safety and study are always the focus.
Everyone who works at the school strives to create a safe and creative environment, where students and guardians feel the trust of the staff and where the students are met by high expectations, challenged and developed.

We are an integration school for children from 7 to 15 years old. Our greatest strength is discovering individual student’s potential and developing it. We offer good quality education and have got a wide selection of additional classes and school clubs. The school can be attended by every child, especially by those with special education needs, with or without a disability.
Our experienced, highly qualified and enthusiastic teaching staff aims at comprehensive development of every individual student. Not only the syllabus is adapted to every child’s needs and potential. The attendance of a teacher assistant at every lesson is our standard.
During the teaching process we emphasize the use of methods for activating students (project-based learning methods) and each class consists of not more than 20 students. Being at our school does not only mean learning. We have fun organizing different school festivals for students and their parents, too.
Our patron is Janusz Korczak, who was the first to promote the idea of children’s rights.
