Art Collider Lab has operated the production-based Young Convergence Artist Creation Program to select and support the research of the school artwork in the experimental stage, dealing with the “convergence of art, technology and culture.” This program consists of <Art Creation Support> to assist young artists’ creations and research on convergence artworks and <Showcase> to present and exchange the process and outcomes.
The theme of 2019 <Art Creation> is “Playful Media.” The interactivity of the media allows us to actively participate in the work of art. The interactivity of media provides an opportunity for us to “play,” actively participating in the artist’s world, rather than simply appreciating art. This is another reason why media interests and influences are increasing in modern society. Through the theme “Playful Media,” we will discover and support creative researches based on the various experiences and interpretations of media interactivity. From 2019 <Art Creation> program, the researches on the related discourses such as interactions and play cultures in media, gender and society, education, or studies of works centered on media art will be included.
Starting from the year 2019, the <Creation Support> program has been restructured to ➀ Creation Grants, ➁ Creation Mentoring, and ➂ Creation Exchange, to support discovery of meaningful themes in contemporary convergence art discourse and creation based on it.
