PHILOSOPHY

The Physical Education and Health Curriculum align with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. The Physical Education and Health classes work to address the social and academic expectations set forth in Arlington High School’s mission statement.  The specific areas addressed are:

• Develop the tools and strategies to resolve disagreements and conflicts.

• Make informed responsible judgments regarding their personal, emotional and physical well-being.

• Learn by application.

• Demonstrate integrity, persistence, and the ability to work independently and cooperatively.

CPR AND FIRST AID SKILLS TAUGHT

The following skills will be taught in the course over a span of 16-18 classes: Adult, child, and infant CPR and AED, choking in an adult, child, and infant, first aid basics, treating medical emergencies, and treating injuries.
