"Flipped Workshops: Enhancing Engagement and Deep Learning "
The upcoming workshops by the Arab Board of Health Specializations' Assessment Unit will utilize a flipped classroom approach. This will include a pre-workshop Ai generated podcast to prepare participants and a post-workshop assessment with real-time feedback to enhance learning effectiveness and engagement.
Objective of the approach:
Encourage critical thinking and in-depth analysis of information.
Enhance interaction between participants and instructors.
Provide a personalized learning experience tailored to each participant's needs.
The workshops will include the following elements:
1. Pre-Workshop Handout & Ai generated Podcast:
o A pre-workshop digital handout including the presentation, study guide and a recorded audio summary (podcast) of the key topics will be prepared and shared with participants in advance. These resources will enable participants to review the material beforehand, ensuring they are well-prepared for the workshop.
2. Workshop design:
o The first part of the workshop will include a brief presentation to clarify key points and discuss what participants have reviewed beforehand.
o Dedicate the 2nd half of the workshop time to discussion and interaction.
o Engage participants through group activities, Q&A sessions, and collaborative problem-solving.
3. Interactive questions:
o A set of targeted questions covering key workshop topics will be shared with participants via email after the session. These questions will be delivered interactively through Google Forms, providing participants with immediate feedback upon submission.
This approach aims to focus learning and foster a deeper understanding of the topics covered, making the workshops more efficient and impactful.
