“We’ve entered a new era of digital innovation — Explore how ABHS is transforming assessments with AI and advanced technologies.”
Ai & Inquiry
When we reflect on the current reality of our Arab nation, we realize that true advancement is not achieved through the mere accumulation of information or the stockpiling of dry knowledge. Rather, it is achieved when we revive our innate ability to inquire, when we awaken within our minds the curiosity to search and the love of discovery, when learning transforms into an intellectual journey that transcends the limits of passive reception towards active knowledge production and participation in building it.
When Allah Almighty honored humanity among all creatures, He granted them the gift of reason and the ability to question, contemplate, and reflect. This is why His words in the Holy Qur'an state: “And He taught Adam the names—all of them”, as a tribute to the unique human capacity for knowledge that distinguishes us from all other beings. Knowledge is only born from the womb of inquiry; it is the beginning of every discovery and the key to every understanding.
The Qur'an, as a book of guidance and intellectual awakening, did not overlook the importance of activating this human capacity. It made inquiry and reflection central to honoring the human being and called upon us to think, contemplate, and explore. As the Almighty says: “Travel through the land and observe how He began creation”, a clear invitation to break free from stagnation and enter the realm of discovery, contemplation, and questioning that leads to deeper understanding and knowledge.
Amidst the global digital transformations and within the framework of the new digital program for the Arab region, it has become essential not to rely solely on traditional educational tools but to invest in modern tools, foremost among them digital assessment enhanced by inquiry and artificial intelligence. This represents one of the most important pillars for advancing education across all sectors—health, general education, and specialized fields.
Assessment at its core is no longer a separate phase from the learning process but has become an integrated, living part of the continuous learning journey. Today, assessment is a moment of interaction with the learner, a moment to test their ability to think, not merely to recite information, a moment to reveal the depth of their understanding, not just to measure grades, a moment where we reignite questions that spark within them the passion for research and the desire for exploration.
Artificial intelligence has come to enhance this system, providing us with more precise and flexible tools to assess learners’ performance, their critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and knowledge production capabilities. In health fields, for example, interactive educational platforms powered by AI now make it possible to train medical personnel through realistic virtual scenarios that simulate clinical environments, offering learners space for safe and effective inquiry and experimentation.
In general education and specialized disciplines, AI enables continuous tracking of student progress, analyzing their performance data, and delivering personalized educational content tailored to their needs, while ensuring that assessment remains an ongoing process where inquiry is integrated as a tool for building understanding—not merely as a mechanism for final judgment.
Digital assessment enhanced by inquiry and artificial intelligence today represents the cornerstone for building generations capable of producing knowledge—generations that restore the Arab nation's role in human advancement—generations that think, question, explore, produce, and refuse to remain passive consumers.
This is the true spirit of the knowledge renaissance we aspire to, and this is the mission of education when merged with modern tools while preserving its human depth and noble purpose of building the intellect, nurturing emotional awareness, and producing the knowledge that Allah has commanded us to pioneer when He said: “And He taught Adam the names—all of them” and “Travel through the land and observe how He began creation”.
Through this integration of inquiry, artificial intelligence, and digital knowledge production, we can shape an educational system that rebuilds the Arab individual and leads us towards a comprehensive and genuine renaissance across all sectors.
