MAYOR'S CREATIVE YOUTH CORPS - PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Mayor's Creative Youth Corps (MCYC) is a professional development, paid summer internship program for youth interested in arts-based leadership opportunities. Interested rising high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates living in the Albuquerque metro area are eligible to apply. MCYC strives to provide Albuquerque’s creative youth a safe and meaningful opportunity to develop their skills, build a professional network, and prepare for the future.
This year's dates are June 1 through July 29 (with the exception of July 4).

SUMMER PHYSICS CAMP FOR YOUNG WOMEN IN NM
Eligibility Requirements:
Open to students living in New Mexico (including tribal communities) or East Hawaii Island who are women (including transgender women) or nonbinary
Completed Algebra I or a higher-level math course
Able to commit to 2 week full participation
If you are curious, love learning, and enjoy a challenge, we would love for you to apply! Acceptance to the Camp is NOT based on grade point average. The camp will provide free lunch and snacks!
There is no cost to attend and participants who complete the program will be offered a stipend and opportunity to join the SAGE Journey program. The Science Accelerating Girls’ Engagement (SAGE) mission is to engage curious and passionate young women and empower them to explore a wide range of possibilities for their futures.
How to Apply:
Application deadline: Saturday April 1, 2023
Complete the online application (including a short essay about yourself, your interests and why you think the camp will be useful to you).
Ask a teacher/counselor to send a reference letter explaining why they think this camp will benefit you to spcyw-nm@lanl.gov
Obtain copies of your school transcripts confirming you have Algebra 1 and email to spcyw-nm@lanl.gov

BIOPARK VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
"We have school year volunteering on select Saturdays and for special events. No hour requirements.
In the summer we have a 7-week volunteer program with a 24 hour requirement. Nature Guides (year round) are teen educators and set up biofacts/games/activity tables. Camp Counselors (summer) assist camp teachers during summer camp (40 hour requirement). The links below offer more information about each role and there is also an online application there too.

NM PREP High School Academy is a two-week summer program that allows students to dig deeper into the fields of engineering through exposure to the engineering design process, applied use of engineering software, advanced manufacturing using 3D printers, and the ability to implement their engineering skills with real-world projects. Students will live in the campus dorms, participate in a variety of social and leadership activities, and participate in field trips within the local area. The program is designed for students in Grades 9-12. Space is limited and participants will be selected based on a review of submitted applications.
New Mexico Tech Summer STE2M Experience is an opportunity to be a college student and learn about a specific science or engineering discipline. Participants will experience university life on New Mexico Tech’s campus and will be challenged by exciting lectures, relevant labs, and interesting field trips. NMT Summer STE2M Experience provides a week long opportunity for participants to collaborate with fellow students, faculty, and staff who share the same interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Math. Applications due by May 1!

The National Hispanic Youth Research and Leadership Program is part of UNM’s initiative to lead the nation in providing opportunities and quality education to the Hispanic community. The University has the capacity and resources to provide a strong program for national Hispanic organizations to provide educational and professional opportunities for the youth of our country. The UNM National Hispanic Youth Research and Leadership Program’s goal is to focus Hispanic youth on the opportunities in pursuing a degree and the careers available in the STEM fields. It is our goal to build a new generation of Hispanic leaders in our communities.
