STANDARDIZED TESTING
SAT/PSAT: The Public Education Department of NM is mandating that all juniors take the SAT as part of high school competency requirements. This test will be given to all juniors on computers in April of each Spring.
PSAT stands for Preliminary SAT, and this test will be taken in October of each school year. Juniors who take the PSAT (this is optional) will receive an email from College Board re: accessing scores.

ACT: All colleges nationally accept BOTH the SAT and the ACT; students are encouraged to try both at least once to see which is a better fit for them. To access ACT students/families do this on their own at: www.actstudent.org
The role of Nursing Services in the schools is to maintain health records and handle emergencies. Parents can improve these services by submitting immunizations at registration. It is also important that contact information is kept current so that we may reach a parent/guardian or emergency contact should the need arise. In emergencies, 911 will be called. Parents are responsible for any emergency room charges that are incurred.
A variety of food choices for breakfast and lunch are available in the cafeteria. A free or reduced lunch program is available to eligible students. Applications may be picked up at the cafeteria. Nex+Gen follows the guidelines set forth by the APS Wellness policy as well as state and federal nutritional guidelines.
Building Use:
Students are not permitted to buy or sell anything on campus. The only exceptions to this rule are sales for school sponsored activities that are supervised by a staff member.
Student posters, flyers and notices are only to be attached to tackable boards and rails in the hallways. Nothing should be attached to drywall surfaces. Glass surfaces in classrooms are reserved for teacher use.
Lost items of value such as wallets or cell phones should be turned in at the front desk. All other items should be deposited in the bin in the administration area. Items that are not retrieved at the end of each semester will be donated to charity.
