In my design team, I wanted to focus on how to digitally integrate my classroom as well as help other teachers at my school do the same. Working with Marcia who is a part of the Digital Innovator Program this year and a colleague at Sandia, we have helped teachers in our department with tech issues and trained them on different tools to use in the classroom that have been discussed throughout this project. Our department now uses Peardeck, Quizizz, and Google Applications with a new level of confidence and knows they can come to us for support.
The other project that I focused on was digital integration schoolwide. This was a more challenging task. We have a technology leadering ship team made up of chromebook teachers. These are teachers who have a set of chromebooks for their room. We meet monthly. The first step was surveying staff on their technology needs and trying to meet those needs through collaboration in our PLC's. This is an ongoing process.
Besides working with my department, we have built a Sandia Technology Leadership Team. Best practices are modeled using Google Classroom.
Our technology team meets monthly. This semester we have started lunch and learn sessions where teachers sign up for five minute blocks to present ideas or tools to the group. Then teachers are asked to reflect and implement those tools or strategies in their classroom the following month.
I created this Google Classroom (Code: 3323hk2) to help train and support staff during the school closure. I also did Google Meet training sessions with staff on Peardeck, Grading in Google Classroom and Using Google Forms. All of these training videos and resources are posted in the Remote Learning Resource Center Google Classroom.
One of my professional goals was to present at the Digital Learning Conference this year. MarciaVera-Vasallo and I created a website and hosted a session titles "Utilizing Digital Tools for Organizing and Managing the Foreign Language Classroom Using Google Applications". This was my third time attending the conference and first time as a presenter.
