This year, we will host 2 Mini Mock events: one in Santa Fe, and one in Albuquerque. These will be practice committees to help sharpen your research and debate skills in preparation for the NMMUN conference in November.
Mini Mock will consist of ad hoc committees. When students arrive, they will draw a country at random and have 30-45 minutes to research the topic, before 2 hours of debate. The event will conclude with feedback from committee chairs and advisor teachers.
Date: Saturday, October 3
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Venue: Eldorado High School
Date: Saturday, October 17
Time: 9 AM -1 PM
Venue: Mandela International Magnet School
Students should bring a fully charged device like a laptop or tablet for research and resolution writing. A smartphone could work, but isn't ideal.
Delegates will have a choice to participate as an individual or with a partner. Spots for either will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. We recommend that less-experienced students in their 1st or 2nd year in Model UN have a partner. Depending on availability and attendance, you may not be guaranteed a spot in your preferred setting.
Please view the background guide before attending. This also includes a section about research, with some helpful guidance for newer delegates.
