Energize
We believe that all students should be celebrated for their accomplishments, and should be involved in the achievements of this university. We want to energize this school and help students find their passion within Appalachian whether that’s sporting events, sustainability, or through campus clubs and organizations. As Student Body President and Vice-President, we will be committed to energizing student voices to move our university towards a more sustainable and inclusive future!
Reach out to students outside of SGA organization, increase visibility with under-represented populations.
All student voices deserve to be heard and represented. By engaging in conversations with organizations outside of SGA, we will increase visibility and support for marginalized populations and organizations to spark necessary change on Appalachian’s campus.
Partner with REI and sustainability ambassadors, try to increase sustainability through student involvement.
As sustainability measures are implemented on campus, we want to increase student involvement in these changes so that all students are included in the positive changes and steps Appalachian is taking to be more sustainable.
Support student organizations and clubs on campus, increase support from student and university leaders.
What makes Appalachian great is the achievements of individuals and organizations on campus. As leaders, we want to celebrate each student and bring awareness to those accomplishments. By working with university officials and other campus leaders we will increase student involvement and visibility.
Bolster WIFI access in natural/green spaces to encourage student use of natural and healthy spaces on campus.
With a campus as beautiful as ours, everybody should have the opportunity to enjoy the scenery. By bolstering WIFI access we will be able to create viable workspaces to get students outside for students to see the sights while remaining productive.
Walking/Standing desks in the library to encourage movement and healthy lifestyles.
Students should not have to choose between productivity and healthful living. By including walking/standing desks in the library students would be able to be productive without sacrificing their physical health.
We demonstrate our passion for this school by going to App State events like sports, shows and club functions. We are active participants in student life.
Install hammock posts on campus parks and the east side of campus; increase hammocking/lounging infrastructure to get students out in nature and out of their dorms; turn the great outdoors into a study space.
EV charging/ EV/Hybrid exclusive parking, improved infrastructure, and incentives for healthy, environmentally friendly transportation.
Increase solar panels/bolster renewable energy infrastructure on campus-buildings.
