Margaret-Ann Littauer

Hi everyone! My name is Margaret-Ann Littauer and I am super excited to be running for your Student Body Vice President! I am a Sophomore Nursing student with a Spanish minor. I was born in Illinois but grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina, a relatively small town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Boone is my home away from home as I have found people and a wonderful community to support me and have my back.

During the college application process, I knew that Appalachian State was the right school for me. I fell in love with Appalachian and Boone while visiting with my siblings and brother-in-law here. The community of Appalachian State and the town of Boone is one that is unmatched. It means the world to me to be able to represent this amazing university and town in the various things I am a part of on campus.

I am the Secretary for the Appalachian Student Ambassadors, a group that serves as professional student representatives for the university to represent past, present, and future mountaineers. I also serve as a Tour Guide for the Office of Admissions where I get to show my mountaineer pride and love of Appalachian to prospective students and families. It’s an honor to serve the place I love in various roles.

As a part of the Honors College, I have been a part of research groups that help broaden my horizons to the opportunities outside of Appalachian. Getting to know and work with the Boone and surrounding communities is something I am passionate about and I’m excited to continue to get to know and serve the Boone and Appalachian communities.

As someone who has not been a part of the Student Government Association during my time in college, I can bring a new perspective to the table amidst the many changes that are occurring in SGA. I will use my outside perspective and voice to be a representative for the student body so that all students’ voices are heard.

I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to represent the school that I love! Thank you for your support! Roll Neers!
