With cookouts unique menu and hours, for international HRM it would be important to have a home country national to set up employees and help bring cookouts culture to Canada. As far as employees go we thought that host country nationals would be the best option. Luckily Cananda has a similar culture to the U.S so training for these employees shouldn't be hard. On the other hand with small language differences host country nationals are an important thing to have as employees just to make sure customers are getting everything there asking for, as well as being knowledgeable to slight culture differences to make sure everyone is respected. The home country national manager would act as a flexpatriate, which means he would go over there frequently to make sure everything is running to cookouts standards. Canada has other fast food options that operate similar to cookout like Mcdonalds, Wendys and Arbys for those reasons theres no need to bring Home country nationals to Canada as employees, if these franchise resturants can operate then cookout should have no problem. Commuter assignment employees could be an option if employees are having trouble getting used to cookouts standards but with other restaurants similar to cookout and culture very similar to the U.S most likely this would be unnecessary. As time went on the home country national would soon be unnecessary as well, because flexpatriates are costly the plan would be to make sure the restaurant is running at cookouts standards and then set up the restaurant to run with all Host country nationals.
