The Schenectady City SD CLEVER portal now provides Single Sign On for 3 apps available to all teachers and students: Learning A-Z, Zearn and SWANK K-12 Streaming
The Data Team has a new process for Data Requests.Data Requests can be submitted through Let's Talk. There is a Data Request option under SCSD Employees. This allows the Data Team to efficiently monitor requests and ensure timelines are met.
Please encourage families to fill out the Digital Equity Survey. The link can be found on the SCSD Website. What is the purpose of this survey? To best serve students, families, and educators, it is imperative that NYSED has an accurate picture of the state of digital equity for New York students and teachers. This data will be used on an ongoing basis throughout the year to help identify specific needs and target resources and funding opportunities when they become available.

When students transfer from one building to another, the attending school waits for the new school to call and let them know they are there before we withdraw them. It may take a few days for transportation, move etc to take place and that way we know the student showed up at the new school. We have also had to input the new school in red so that transportation can be set up for those students. The new school still has to let the attending school know the student is there so that they can end the enrollment in their building and then the new school has to change the enrollment by changing the start date and the service type from S partial to P primary and uncheck the box state exclude. That way the enrollment changes from red to black and the student is now active in their building.
Please remember that when a new student is registered to change the enrollment date to the day the student starts in your building.
Parents/guardians of compulsory school age children have the legal right to instruct their child(ren) at home. The first document submitted by the parent/guardian is a Letter of Intent (LOI) to provide home instruction. This document is typically submitted to the building. Once the building receives it, they can forward it to Teri Shanahan in OPA. Teri has 10 days to respond to the family with a copy of Section 100.10 and a due date for the second required document -the Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP). Parents/guardians are responsible for identifying and providing the curriculum materials/resources they will use to instruct their children in all the required subjects.
Parents/guardians who are interested in providing home instruction for their child may request a packet of home instruction information by contacting Teri by telephone (518- 881-2506) or email – shanahant@schenectady.k12.ny.us
Teachers: If you have questions about professional development entered in StaffTrac or you need help accessing your CTLE certificates, please contact Teri Shanahan by email or phone (x26042). If you have a Professional Certificate, be sure to print CTLE certificates for events that fall inside your five year window.
Principals: Please remember to enter building events in Staffrac for any and all meetings that occur so that teachers can get their CTLE credit. This information does not go to Teri Shanahan. She is happy to provide training or answer questions as needed upon request.
IF it is a full district event, Teri will enter the information in StaffTrac
