The California Dream Act (CADAA) is an application to receive financial aid, similar to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should only complete ONE of these financial aid applications - NOT BOTH
Students who live in California and meet the eligibility requirements for a non-resident exemption:
Are undocumented
Have a valid or expired DACA status
Are a U vise holder
Have a Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
Meet the non-resident exemption requirements under AB540, AB2000, or SB68
Undocumented students qualify for the following types of financial aid:
State grants, including the California College Promise Grant (formerly BOG Fee Waiver), Cal Grants, Chafee Grants, and Student Success Completion Grant
Assistance form EOPS, CARE, or CalWorks
Local college scholarships
External scholarships
The application can be found at https://dream.csac.ca.gov. The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) processes the application and any aid received can only be used at eligible California public or private institutions.
