The purpose of this proposal is to explain our resolution and our vision, and why it is important to potential supporters, be they organizations, environmental clubs, individual citizens, or legislators. It is similar to our resolution, but with less formal language and more details and specific action items. It is also formatted differently and contains graphics and easier to understand information. The proposal shows our vision and our initiatives, while the resolution is what we are planning to pass and gathering support for.
This document aims to outline a set of actions that could reduce our state's contribution to climate change and assist the creation of legislature to mitigate and adapt to the effects of the climate crisis. We hope this will be expanded upon to create an extensive Washington state climate action plan that would ensure a sustainable, healthy and equitable future for Washingtonians.
These are all the sources we used to research, plan, and create the resolution and proposall. The proposal style was inspired strongly by the Kenmore and Kirkland climate action plans.
This resolution is based on Hawaii’s Climate Emergency Declaration, and has been adjusted with today’s numbers and information, and includes an additional section about the impacts on human health.
The resolution is the official resolution we will seek to adopt into the WA government. It must be approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate. We copied from Hawaii’s climate emergency declaration, since it also applies to Washignton state. We also added a paragraph “WHEREAS” statement about how climate change impacts the health of the people. We also updated it with current numbers and Washington procedures.
This resolution outlines what we know: climate change is real, and what we must do: take action to mitigate our contributions and adapt to climate change. This document conveys the urgency of the crisis, and will have the state prioritize climate action
In the Northshore School district, every student has a student account made up of their student ID and @apps.nsd.org. Unfortunately, this type of account prohibits viewing most external (non-student account) documents. That is why here we have the documents viewable from most Google accounts at the top with descriptions, then the documents only viewable from student accounts below.
