What is Climate Action Club?

We meet during 5th Slot in Ms. Virga/Carpenter's Room.

Our Big Goal This Year:

Washington State declares a Climate Emergency.

Our Goals:

Initiatives and Projects:

2023-PRESENT: Green School Certification (We are now Level 1 Green School Certified by King County!)

2023-PRESENT: Washington Declaring the Climate Emergency (WA.D.E.)

2023-PRESENT: Plastic Recycling Program. We are taking on the NexTrex Plastic Recycling Collection Challenge!

Oct. 2022-PRESENT: Convincing WA to declare the Climate Emergency. We had our march 4th For Climate Event to raise awareness of this goal and what it would mean for Washingtonians, and are working on our proposal and will soon begin seeking endorsements.

2021-2022: Bringing composting to our school by partnering with Cedar Grove. Compost bins are on every floor. We brought in a guest speaker for Cedar Grove to talk about how composting works, how it saves the planet, and how to properly compost.

2020-2021: Bringing climate change awareness to elementary schools. We created informational lessons about climate change and climate action to spark curiosity and passion for standing up for a better future. You can view the 5th grade presentation here.

Why join the FFF?

1. Raise awareness: Everyone should know climate change is an urgent issue.

2. Show people that we care: This encourages others to speak up and join the fight against climate change.

3. Increase morale: It’s hard to take action if it all feels hopeless. Climate striking allows us to get together and show each other and our community that we won’t give up!
