Enrolling in a class is an act of courage. For many of you, starting a new class, and especially a science class, can bring up anxiety (and maybe some excitement too?!?). Trust is earned over time and I hope to do that with you over the semester. To start off, I’m asking you to take a leap of faith that:

• Science can be accessible to everyone.

• Each assignment was created with intention to help you learn; not just as busy work.

• Do the assignments and be actively engaged and you will succeed in this class.

My commitment to you is to be the best teacher and support system I can be.

I’m asking you to commit to being open to being a scholar and collaborator, ask questions, engage critically with the material, and authentically contribute to the class. Sound ok so far?
