Please complete the 6th grade chapter pretests in the following order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11-12.
Then you can begin taking the 7th grade assessments. There are only 3. However, they are much more difficult. G67 Unit 1, 2 and 3.
Note: The online textbook and problem sets listed on the syllabus below are intended as alternative resources for those who do not like the video format.
Steps:
1. Take pretest. Print results.
2. Use syllabus to locate the pages/problems in the book that address all targets that your pretest results listed as Near Mastery or Remediation.
3. Work 8-10 problems from the problem sets listed on the syllabus for each target. If there is not a problem set listed, find the corresponding worksheet referenced by target number in the resources/worksheet file. Complete 8-10 problems on the worksheet.
4. Bring the work for each target in during office hours to have a math teacher check it over. Make sure to bring your test results from the pretest!
5. Repeat cycle.
Note:
This link will take you directly to the online textbook used by sixth graders in our district. There are many learning targets covered in this textbook that are not part of the Minnesota Math Standards. Make sure you first refer to the specific syllabus of learning targets to identify what you are being asked to learn.
All leaning targets on the syllabus have been give as specific alphanumeric code. The first number of each learning target refers to the chapter number. The number following the ( . ) refers to the section of that chapter. The letter immediately after the second number identifies which target in the section is being covered. Thus, target 7.2A is found in chapter seven, section 2 and it is the first target in that section. Target 7.2B would be the second target in that section. Occasionally I have combined 2 targets into one video (9.2AB). Not all sections of the book have learning targets. Many of the sections only have one target.
